Hyundai Motors is actively testing their new small car, codename “AH2”. It is rumored that the “AH2” will most likely take its place in the market as the 2018 Hyundai Santro. The AH2 was spotted recently by members of The Automotive India forum. Similar to the previous sightings of this car, this test mule was also decked to the brim in covers and camouflages, revealing minimum information of the car’s styling cues.

2018 Hyundai Santro Specifications

It was initially rumored that the AH2 hatchback will take its place in the market as the next generation Eon. However, going by its size dimensions, it now almost certainly appears that this won’t be the case. The AH2 is expected to run on a refreshed version of the 2nd generation i10’s 1.1-litre iRDE petrol engine. The old engine put out 68 bhp of power and 99 Nm of torque. The refreshed engine should be able to breach the 70 bhp and 100 Nm mark which is quite plentiful for an entry-level hatchback. It came equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission which should be the case here as well. An AMT version should also see the light due to their massive popularity in the entry-level segment. This will also make it the first car manufactured by Hyundai Motors India Limited to come with AMT technology
